The watchful eyes of a child pick up everything. Their ears are listening even when we whisper. They are looking to us at every moment, yearning for our guidance and inspiration.
No matter what they say, especially as they get older, we are our their biggest inspiration. It’s up to us to use that power as a positive force, not become complacent in our duty as a parent.
This is not to say we have to be perfect, there is great benefit in showing our children how to accept defeat, or fail with grace. Though we have to remember, “do as I say, not as I do” is a saying that always falls on deaf ears.
