Rarely do I have to opportunity to feature two rad dads at once. Fortunately, Mark Veeder and Cooper Boone are partners in more than just life, but in parenting as well. These talented and accomplished fathers have added another achievement to their lengthy résumé’s, and that is being the fathers to two beautiful children, Crosby Boone Veeder and CeliaRose Boone Veeder. Cooper is a talented and award winnings singer/songwriter in addition to being a psychologist and chef. Mark is a pioneering plant researcher behind discovering and patenting a unique form of echinacea for his high quality and restorative skin care line, Farmacy Beauty. How they make time to be rad dads is quite the feat in itself, but it’s obvious their passion really lies in being fathers. Without any further adieu, it’s my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Mark Veeder and Cooper Boone.
1. Tell us about what you do, who you are, and how you balance your career with being a dad?
Mark is the co-founder of Farmacy Beauty (Sephora and QVC). He also owns VP+C Partners in NYC, a public relations, social media and special events company. He is a formidable gardener having cultivated the Echinacea plant, Green Envy, which is the essential ingredient to his Farmacy Beauty skin care line.
Cooper is a song writer and avid cook.
2. What does being a modern-day dad mean to you?
Being a modern dad is about be open to the future and possibility yet remaining grounded in the past.
3.How did becoming a father change your life?
There isn’t enough room on this page! It’s grounded both of us. It’s deepened our relationship. It’s made us complete.
4. Whats the greatest part about being a dad?
Having 1 year old twin daughters adds a lovely chaos to the house that is always infused with laughter. We laugh all the time…this fills our hearts.
5. Can you share a funny story about being a father?
There are so many stories! Ironically, the story that still makes us laugh was the first night in the hospital when Mark turned to Cooper and said “what the f*&^% do we do now!”
6. What advice can you give any new father out there?
Have support. This is crucial. It really does take a village.
