One of the most talented custom bike builders in the game, Scott Jones builds bikes that do most of the talking. He is known in the motorcycle world for his slim, high performance bikes, and they have the best looking handlebars in the game. He is highly respected by his peers, admired by the scene and an absolute master in his craft. This husband and father is really doing it right, and it’s amazing he has time to be such a great Dad, but he doesn’t just find time, he has to make it.
1. Tell us about what you do, who you are, and how you balance your career with being a dad?
I am Scott Jones known as “T-Bone” in the motorcycle world. I along with my wife, we own and operate Noise Cycles in Santa Ana California. I build, design and create custom motorcycles along with apparel that can be found is select stores and online at noisecycles.com. But my number one job is being a dad to three little amazing kids Noah 10,
Ryah 3 and our little girl Memphis 13 months. We spend a lot of time at my shop and eating dinners in my office haha.
2. What does being a modern-day dad mean to you?
Because my wife works as a hair stylist , I am blessed to spend one on one time with the kids while she is at work. We play baseball, go to the beach and watch motorcross on tv. It’s something we all love to do while it’s dad time.
3.How did becoming a father change your life?
Being a child from a divorce, I always promised myself that if I ever had kids I would be as hands on and involved with them as possible. This is my chance to break the cycle and although at times I work crazy hours I never have missed one of my boys games or I’ll run home tuck the kids in bed and go back to the shop. It’s a busy schedule but they mean every thing to me.
4. Whats the greatest part about being a dad?
When I walk in the door at the end of a stressful day and everyone runs to the door yelling “daddy is home”
5. Can you share a funny story about being a father?
When my oldest son was little I would always take him to motorcycle swap meets with me, let’s just say he had a bathroom accident that I was unprepared for and he had to spend the rest of the day underwear less. It was not so funny in the moment but he loves when I tell him the story now haha.
6. What advice can you give any new father out there?
Find something to relate to them with, for me it’s baseball and dirt bikes. I was scared to have a little girl but she has me wrapped around her finger. I am not full of advice in fact I need some!
Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with us Scott! We wish you all the best!
