“My Honey-do List”

I live on a canopy road. With all the beautiful trees and foliage that make up my neighborhood, and many of the lush tropical plants at persuaded us to buy our home, there comes a list of annoyances. Though mosquitoes are probably at the top of the list, the affect this type of neighborhood has on my house is a close second. After a good rain it feels like we are in a sweltering jungle. With this is a great deal of mold and mildew.

They say hindsight is 20/20 and for good reason. At the time we bought the best house we could afford. In retrospect it seems like having a house that is over 40 years old and made of wood isn’t the best idea in a hot and wet climate.

I am forever trying to find ways to keep the mold off my exterior walls. In fact when we moved in I thought our house was an entirely different color, until I got outside and cleaned the exterior walls off.

I don’t know if you have ever had to scrub mold stains off of a wall, but it is no easy task. Soap isn’t enough, and bleach is a little too much. I try and use as friendly of a chemical as I can to get the job done efficiently. What good is a clean wall if I’m using chemicals that will kill my plants, or mess up our outdoor fabrics?

Fortunately I have found some relief in using Scotts® Outdoor Cleaner.

All I have to do is hook it up to my hose, spray the area, scrub and rinse it clean. I just point the nozzle in the direction I want to spray and bend a small tab on the side of the sprayer to turn it on. I have had trouble in the past with products that connect to my house flying off or not connecting properly and leaking, but this did not happen with the Scotts®Plus OxiClean™ Outdoor Cleaner. It was connected securely and sprayed perfectly.

After spraying it evenly over the surface area I just bent they tab again and turned the knob to the off position.

After one spray, and letting it sit for a few minutes, I already could see a big difference.

If I had put a little elbow grease into it, it surely would look as good as new, but I was pleased with the results already. Looks like I’m going to have to get out my ladder and finish the job with a little light scrubbing.

It works great on patios as well, decorative rocks, lawn chairs and anything else you need to clean. Scotts®Plus OxiClean™ Outdoor Cleaner is powered by a unique fast foaming action that lifts dirt and stains. It’s safe on lawns, plants, fabric, patio furniture and more. If you have dirt to clean let Scotts®Plus OxiClean™ Outdoor Cleaner wipe out the stains.
