“Bulletproof Coffee Recipe”

I had my first time trying “bulletproof coffee” the other day.  What is my opinion? Well, it’s pretty darn good.  Especially for a guy who usually drinks black coffee. This recipe called for one cup coffee, 1tbsp butter and 1/2tbsp coconut oil blended together.

There are many variations of this recipe and I am sure you can find the right mix to make you go “zing!” Many bulletproof coffee drinkers claim it helps to keep hunger at bay and can enhance mental clarity.  Again, I’m no doctor, but I am a stickler for results.  I’m still drinking it, if that says anything.

Anyhow, this is yet another take on coffee and while very delicious, many people are saying it can even help you lose weight with its morning dose of almost pure fat that can help stimulate your body’s natural fat-burning potential.  I don’t know anything about that, but it sure did taste good, so consider me sold!

Here is how to make your own:


One cup of coffee

1 tbsp organic butter

1/2 tbsp virgin coconut oil



#1 Make a cup of coffee: Brew your morning cup of coffee however you normally would.  I use the highest quality coffee I can afford, and make it in a french press.  Simple, efficient and delicious.

#2 Pour coffee into blender: Pour your hot coffee into your blender and let it sit for a few seconds.  This will help “pre-heat” your blender.

#3 Mix it up: Add your butter, and virgin coconut oil.  Blend your mixture until there is a thick layer of foam on top.  It is going to look a lot better than you thought it would.

#4 Enjoy your new creation.  Savor your bulletproof coffee’s flavor and high energy buzz.  Some people add in cinnamon, dark chocolate nibs, or even stevia.  I think it tastes great on its own.  Find what works for you and let me know what you think!

    Is that grass fed butter. If it’s not than it isn’t the same.

      I regularly drink iced coffee, but with a mix of butter and coconut oil, the ice cool them and make clumps in the coffee. Not as tasty. An alternative might be to use MCT oil but I haven’t tried that. Cheers!
