Belief is a powerful thing. When it comes to the mind of a child, belief can be everything. With eager eyes, they look to us to set expectations and yearn to live up to them. Children gain a great deal of satisfaction by having the acceptance of their parents.
By setting a high, but reasonable standard for them to live up to, we will be raising children that grow up to become happy and healthy adults that perform to the best of their abilities. Weather in school, or just every day life, our unwavering belief in our children makes all the difference.
On the other hand, it’s important to encourage our children to do better when they fail instead of pointing fingers. Children to hear that they always misbehave, or aren’t smart slowly start to believe those things about themselves. Once a child believes that they can no longer succeed, it’s hard to get them back on track.
By holding a high standard, but encouraging our children to succeed we are literally shaping and molding the future our children will have.
