When I first heard about the Paleo diet (a nutritional plan based on the presumed diet of cavemen, basically), I thought it was just another fad for people trying to be stick figure thin. What I found out upon further research is that is a diet for people that have a goal of being fit, strong and full. Let’s be real, a tofu salad isn’t going to cut it for me after a marathon session at the gym.
Many adherents to the Paleo diet participate in the grueling training of Cross-fit, but I was also pleased to find out this nutrient dense diet focuses on natural and whole foods. Although I don’t strictly follow the diet, researching it had led me to find a lot of great, nutritious and unique meals that my entire family can enjoy. Not only that, but it led me to find some simple, delicious and well, a little bit more healthier versions of some desserts and dinner pies both!
Pies of all kinds are my absolute favorite! With “Pi Day” around the corner you should be pretty stoked to indulge. Consider if the Paleo diet is right for you, or try integrating a few dishes throughout your week and see if you feel healthier, stronger and fuller for longer!
